“Judging a cow through the mud!”

“You have to be able to judge a cow thru the mud.”  The quote is from my FFA (Future Farmers Of America) adviser, David E. McPherson, aka Mr. Mac.  I was in High School and on the Dairy Judging team. Mr. Mac had taken our team out to a dairy barn for judging practice.  It was a muddy day and the cows were a little muddy.  Someone on the team commented on it.  Mr. Mac says, “Well…., You’ll have to judge the cow thru the mud.”  Sometimes you have to look thru the mud, the layers, the ugly, to see the bones, and the structure of something.  He was a very wise man and when he retired after 45 years, a lot of tears were shed.

Isn’t it funny, how something that someone said so long ago, sticks with you for a lifetime.  I am not really sure why that influenced me so much.  But, when I see something ugly, I try to think of how I can make it Fabulous, or at least better on a budget. Check out our Barnominium.  It was a Big Old Muddy Cow.  I will be adding lots of before and after projects and DIY projects on the blog. Unlike HGTV, everything on my blog will be done on a beer budget.  I love to watch that channel, but I want to show something real, attainable. Most people do not have $30,000 to redo a kitchen, or $15,000 to redo a bath.  I will be showing affordable do overs. So, check out the barn and the other post under pages.

I hope this Blog will inspire you, to look inside yourself for creativity, to think outside the box, get out of your comfort zone.   You will never ever know you can…unless you just do it.  So, many people are frozen, thinking “I can’t do that.” “YES, You Can” Either their lazy and want someone else to do it for them, or they are just insecure in their abilities.  I challenge you to step out of the box.  If you paint something and don’t like it, change it. It is just paint. Thanks, for looking.  Feel free to comment or to ask questions.

    1. He certainly impacted a lot of lives! I cried when he retired. Begged him to stay through my senior year but I sure that was why he had stayed so Long!! Each class asked for another year.

  1. I do consider all the concepts you’ve presented for your
post. They are very convincing and can certainly work.
Nonetheless, the posts are too brief for starters.
May just you please lengthen them a bit from next time? Thanks
    for the post.

  2. I love your blog.. very nice colors & theme. Did you create
this website yourself or did you hire someone to do
it for you? Plz reply as I’m looking to create my own blog and would like to
know where u got this from. kudos
